The parishad had called for banda two days ago through the pamphlets. Due to this all markets, transportation, industries, schools and other businesses remained closed on Monday and Tuesday.[break]
The religious group had demanded immediate resignation of PM Madhav Kumar Nepal and implementation of the three-point pact reached on May 28. No one had heard about the parishad, which has been claiming restoration of Hindu state.
The group had threatened to take "action" in case the call for banda was disobeyed.
"It was written that the group would take physical action," one businessman said, adding, "We would have been targeted had we opened the shops."
However, no protestors of the parishad were seen during the two days in the streets, CDO Rishiram Dhakal informed. He has urged the people not to go after such pamphlets which would only boost the psychological strength of little-known groups.
