Hemanta Gurung leads Carlsberg Golf Classic

KATHMANDU, Oct 25: Hemanta Gurung took the lead in the Carlsberg Golf Classic 2013 on Friday as 40 golfers teed off at the Royal Nepal Golf Club (RNGC) on the first day of the tournament.



Gurung, who plays with 15 handicap allowances, scored 41 points while Kiran Acharya, who plays with 17 handicap allowances, scored 40 points to take second position. Rajendra Shrestha, who plays with 12 handicap allowances, was in third position with 39 points.[break]



Pratima Sherpa finished on top in the junior girls´ category on the first day while Saurav Acharya led the race in the junior boys´ category.

More than 60 participants will tee off on Saturday and the winner of the tournament will be announced the same day.



According to Carlsberg, there are prizes and gift hampers for the participants under 18 different categories, including men´s winner, runner-up, best gross, ladies´ winner, junior boys´ winner and junior girls´ winner.
