Gurung, a 15-handicap amateur golfer, accumulated 41 points to win the event played under stableford full handicap format. Gurung scored 22 on the front nine before adding 19 on the back nine on Friday.[break]
Kiran Dev Acharya, another 15-handicap amateur who also played on Friday, finished second with 40 points. Rajendra Shrestha, a 12-handicap amateur, took home the best gross award with 27 points.
NK Rai won the title in the super senior section with 33 points and Rajendra Man Sherchan finished on top in the senior category with 38 points. Aditi Ghimire pipped her mother Rekha to the women´s title. Aditi scored 37 points and Rekha scored 35 points.
Bijaya Bahadur Shrestha scored 33 points to take the title in the guest category while Pratima Sherpa and Saurav Acharya won the junior girls´ and boys´ titles respectively with 20 points each.
Fakhre Shah and Karma C Gurung won the awards for best front nine and back nine respectively with 21 points each. Similarly, Pawitra Yakthumba bagged the Lucky 23 award.
Pradeep Kumar Shrestha (most birdies), Tashi Ghale (longest drive), Charlie Gurung (closest to the pin) and Fadli Adilah (best sportsmanship) were the other winners.
Altogether 94 golfers competed in the two-day tournament organized by Gorkha Brewery on the occasion of its 23rd anniversary.
