Gojurio Osikai picks 16 karatekas for qualifiers

KATHMANDU, July 5: Japan Karate-do Gojurio Osikai, Nepal selected 16 players on Friday for the qualifiers for national karate team as per the announcement made by the Nepal Karate Federation. [break]



According to Surendra KC, spokesperson for Gojurio Osikai, 13 male and three female players have been picked for the qualifiers to be held on July 16 and 17 in Kathmandu. The qualified players will be given special training. The male players to be selected are Niraj Adhikiari and Milan BK in 50 kg, Babulal Lama and Min Bahadur GC in 55 kg, Tanka Bir Tamang and Sandesh Lama in 60 kg, Joshal Shreshta and Ram Majhi in 67 kg, Pradip Jung Thapa and Lal Babu Singh in 75 kg and Bipin Tiwari in 84 kg. Arjun Karki and Pragyan Dahal have been selected in single kata. Similarly, female players Rukmila Tamang and Saru Lama have been selected in 45 kg and 50 kg respectively.
