Gamblers held in Morang, Rupandehi

BIRATNAGAR, Nov 5: Police arrested 18 people while they were gambling at a hotel in Biratnagar Monday night. Police confiscated Rs. 209 thousand that was on stake.



According to the District Police Office, Morang, Harish Chandra Sahani, owner of the Dolphin Geet Gajal Restaurant including other people were arrested while they were gambling.[break]



Police seized Rs. 209,860, and seven books of cards from the Restaurant.



Police claimed that criminal activities in Biratnagar area are under control after they tightened security in the district in the last few days. Similarly, police have curbed gambling in this year´s Tihar festival.



Meanwhile, police nabbed moiré than 50 people who were gambling at different places of Rupandehi district.



The District Police Office, Rupandehi said 30 people were arrested red-handed from Sunauli. They were arrested while gambling at a house. Similarly, 13 people were arrested from Devdaha Khaireni and six from Mangalapur in the districtPolice is preparing to file cases against them at the District Court.
