Former national cricket team skipper Binod Das, who spent 15 years playing cricket for Nepal, retired from all formats of cricket after playing the Phillip Hughes Memorial Tribute Match.
Born on April 26, 1983 in Kaliaya, Das spent most of his time playing the ´gentlemen´s game´ and won his first international cap during the ACC U-19 Trophy held in Malaysia in 1997 and had played his last match against United States in the ICC World Cricket League Division 4 held in Malaysia in 2012.

Das made his debut for the national team in 2000 against UAE in the ACC Trophy at Sharjha. He played 68 matches of 50-overs and bowled 434 overs conceding 1549 runs at the economy rate of 3.56. He took five wickets against Myanmar giving away only eight runs. Das claimed 76 wickets at the average of 20.38 in the 50-overs match.
