They also blamed the major political forces that while inking the 16-point deal on state restructuring, the latter violated the agreements reached with Madhes-based political parties and indigenous communities in 2008.Madhesi People's Rights Forum-Nepal (MPRF-N), Tarai-Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP), Sadbhavana Party (SP), Federal Socialist Party-Nepal (FSP-N) and Tarai-Madhesh Sadbhavana Party (TMSP) walked out of the meeting after MPRF-N Chairman Upendra Yadav addressed the House and announced the five parties' joint decision not to participate in the "process carried out in contravention with the related constitutional provision."
The five parties' protest, however, is insufficient to exert pressure on the major parties' decision to produce new constitution through fast-track process as the fringe parties altogether have only 35 seats in the 601-member CA.
However, they will participate in other discussions and procedures of statute drafting.
Some other political parties, including Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N), Rastriya Janamorcha and Nepal Workers Peasants Party (NWPP) have criticized the deal and registered their differing views on various provisions but they haven't boycotted any meetings or procedures.
They have announced not to obstruct constitution making process despite their differing view on certain issues.
