According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Chandra Bahadur Baraghare, 50, of Jalpa VDC-7, Tek Bahadur Dhanga, 50, of Bahadurpur-7, Humisara Baraghare, 63, of Bahadurpur-2, Gyani Sara Saru and Badan Singh Saru, 86, of Jalpa-9 in the district. [break]
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Sthaneshwor Regmi, Chandra Bahadur and Tek Bahadur breathed their last while undergoing treatment at Mission Hospital in Tansen while others died on the spot.
The deceased who were retired Indian Army personnel had boarded the jeep to return home after receiving pension from Indian Army Pension Camp based in Chilangdhi. Nepal Police personnel and the locals had jointly carried out rescue operation.
