Five girls rescued from Chitwan

Chitwan, Dec. 22: Chitwan police rescued five girls from Narayanghat on Monday suspecting that they were being trafficked.

Police said that the girls who were taken to Mahendranagar from the capital city were rescued.


Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajan Adhikari said that Maya Tamang, Dolma Tamang, Phursang and Lyanglamu Tamang of Sindhupalchowk district and Tikamaya Rai of Sunsari district were rescued.

Police said that Muna Silwal and Namita Bhandari of Sindhupalchowk, who were accompanying the girls, were also held and investigation into them is on.

It is revealed that the five girls were being trafficked to Sri Lanka via India. RSS
