A police squad from Metropolitan Police Sector, Durbarmarg, arrested Pradhan, whose involvement a police source claims was established in the counterfeit Indian currency scandal. During police questioning, Narullah had mentioned the names of Pradhan and one other fake currency dealer and Nepal Taekwondo Association treasurer Rabi Singh. In his police statement, Narullah had said the idea of bringing in the fake Indian currency from Pakistan was conceived at Pradhan’s manpower company.
Police then arrested Singh but remained unwilling to bring Pradhan into the scope of investigation, much to public criticism. Recently, he is said to be involved in dealing in stolen vehicles in Nepal brought from across the Indian border. However, Pradhan was today arrested in connection with a case related to stealing of vehicles, a police source said, adding that Pradhan this time will be put through the investigation of the fake currency scandal as well.
