Draft constitution to be prepared within six-month of CA poll

KATHMANDU, July 17: Top leaders of the four major political forces in the country on Wednesday reached to an understanding that they would prepare a draft of the new constitution within the six months of the election of next Constituent Assembly (CA) and promulgate the new constitution within a year.



A meeting of the high level political committee (HLPC) held at New Baneshwor, under the coordination of UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal this morning also forged an understanding that the next CA will automatically transform into the parliament and would last for next three years, once the new constitution promulgated.[break]



Urging the dissenting political parties who are against the upcoming November CA elections, to sit for talks to resolve their concerns through dialogue, the meeting has also issued invitation letters to them.
