Diarrhea claims seven in Rukum

RUKUM, July 9: The number of those who died of diarrhea in one month in Rukum has now reached seven.



Six people died in Ward Nos. 2 and 5 of Gotamkot VDC and Ward No. 1 of Purtingkanda VDC of the district.



Ruplal Pun and Deurupa Pariyar died in Purtingkanda on July 5, Jish Bahadur Nav,15, of Gotamkot -5, on July 7, Lalit Malla, 5, Gaje Kami, 60, Jayanti BK, 11, and 45 year-old Bale Kami of Ward No.2 of the same VDC, Chief of Public Health Office, Rukum, Binod Giri said.



A team has been already sent to the area, said Giri.



Meanwhile, Aiti Nepali, 52, of Syano Khola of Kholagaun -7 died of snake bite, while cutting grass Wednesday morning.
