KATHMANDU, Nov 2: Another cyclone, named ‘Murasu’, has formed in the Bay of Bengal. However, current forecasts suggest it is unlikely to move towards Nepal or bring rainfall to the country, meteorologist Binod Pokhrel said.
According to Pokhrel, a weak western disturbance continues to affect Nepal. As a result, some parts of western Nepal may receive light rainfall today. He clarified that any rainfall would be caused by the western disturbance, not Cyclone Murasu.

Meanwhile, with rainfall subsiding, smoke from crop residue burning has begun appearing across parts of northwestern India, Pokhrel said.
Air quality in Nepal remains relatively clean for now. However, if wind patterns shift towards Nepal, polluted air carrying smoke from crop burning could enter the country and increase air pollution in the coming days, he warned.
