Blood cancer-ridden Gautam, who was hospitalized due to a severe bout of pneumonia, breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Ekantakuna-based Alka Hospital, said CPN-Maoist central party headquarters.
Late Gautam had defected to the UCPN (Maoist) during the Maoist insurgency from the CPN-UML in 2053 BS and then had become a central advisor of the CPN-Maoist after it broke away from the UCPN (Maoist).
Gautam’s body will be kept at the CPN-Maoist party headquarters from 8-10 am in Buddhanagar today for final tributes.
Gautam is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
