Convention of NA ex-servicemen concludes

KATHMANDU, April 10: Ex-servicemen general conventions of Nepal Army held in Surkhet and Nepalgunj concluded on Friday organizing health camps and providing financial support to operate various micro-finance programs.

According to a press statement issued by NA Directorate of Public Relations (DPR), ten ex-servicemen -- five each from Surkhet and Nepalgunj -- were handed over cheques jointly by Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Gaurav SJB Rana and Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Investment Bank Jyoti Prakash Pandey to start various micro-finance programs.During the conclusion ceremony CoAS Rana highlighted the steps taken by the Nepal Army to promote income generating activities from the existing welfare fund and increase welfare activities.

The conventions also provided eight wheelchairs to physically disabled ex-servicemen. Nepal Army plans to operate regional mobile hospitals and polyclinics, according to DPR.
