DAILEKH, Oct 11: The kin of Constable Kamal Sharma, who is reportedly said to have gunned down his boss Inspector Hem Raj Bhatta, came up with a claim that there is a third hand behind the murder of Inspector Bhatta and aide Sharma himself.

Organizing a press meet at the district headquarters, the relatives of aide Sharma said he got killed while he was trying to save his boss Inspector Bhatta. [break]

“The incident is mysterious. Inspector Bhatta and Sharma must have been killed lest some confidential matters of the office would be leaked out,” stated Kamal’s father Badri Prasad Sharma Jaisi.

When asked through telephone, District Police Chief DSP Prajwal Maharjan said that the press meet was not conducted at the district police office but elsewhere in the district headquarters.

He further said Nepal Police headquarters has initiated an investigation under the command of Bheri Zonal Police Office Chief SSP Madhu Prasad Pudasaini into the murder of Inspector Bhatta.

The team will come up with the detailed report within 10 to 15 days, according to SSP Pudasaini.

The body of Inspector Bhatta has been taken by his family members to his home town Mahendranagar for final rites while aide Sharma’s body is still inside the police headquarters with the refusal by his relatives to receive the body.

Aide Kamal Sharma reportedly opened fire at Inspector Bhatta while he was sleeping in his room in the district police headquarters Thursday morning.
