CIAA seeks clarification from Lakaul

KATHMANDU, Oct 26: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has sought clarification from the Director General of the Department of Electricity Development Shriranjan* Lakaul over the Department´s decision to provide three power generation licenses to Manang Trade Link, the promoter of Modi Khola Hydropower Project, against the existing legal provisions.



It has also asked the company to furnish clarification as to why it could not generate power within the stipulated time.



According to a statement issued by the CIAA, the company was first granted license in 1999.
