KATHMANDU, Nov 12: A Buddha Air flight which took off from Kathmandu for Bhairahawa was diverted to Pokhara this morning due to weather-related issues.

Flight number BHA 851, which departed from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu and  was bound for Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA) in Bhairahawa, was redirected to Pokhara after adverse weather conditions caused operational delays at Bhairahawa airport.

The Bhairahawa airport is yet to come into full operation. Besides, Pokhara's airport, which has been under the sway of poor visibility, has grounded numerous flights since early this morning.

Amid these uncertainties in flight, the police are bringing the chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rabi Lamichhane, from Pokhara to Bhairahawa.
