Man kills wife
JHAPA: A man his killed his wife in an altercation after her refusal to get off a rickshaw in Charali on Sunday afternoon. Purne Urau, 50, of Sanischare-9 dragged his wife Lakhimani, 45, off the rickshaw in the middle of the market and kicked her. Police said her head hit a stone after falling of the rickshaw.
Two die in elephant attack
CHITWAN: Two persons have died while two others were injured in an attack by wild elephants in Madi, Chitwan on Sunday morning. Kumari Tamang, 55, and Sukaram Sunar, 60, of Madi Ayodhyapuri-9, Pyauli died when the wild tusker came out of the Chitwan National Park and attacked them at two in the morning.
Kumari´s husband Aslal and his other wife Hari Maya were injured by the elephant that destroyed around a dozen houses and crops in the village. The injured duo is being treated at Chitwan Medical College, Bharatpur.
Man torches house, commits suicide
JHAPA: An elderly has committed suicide in Duwagadi-3 setting his house on fire Sunday morning. Padam Dhakal, 55, set his thatched hut on fire and locked himself inside after his wife and son went to work in a saw mill. Nobody could rescue him as the thatched hut started blazing soon after the fire was lit, police said.
