Bodies of all four girls missing in Mahakali River found

BHIMDUTTANAGAR, April 14: The bodies of all the four girls missing in Mahakali River since Monday have been found. Of them, three bodies were found on Monday and one this afternoon.

According to the District Police Office, Darchula, the body of Puja Koli, was found in the Mahakali River at Uku VDC this afternoon.


Four girls —Mamata Chunara, 13, Nitu Luhar, 12, Mamata Chunara, 12, and Puja Koli, 14, jumped into the river en mass after tying their hands with a shawl after collecting the exam results from school.

Of them, two were sixth graders and the remaining two seventh graders at the Rastriya Higher Secondary School at Dattu VDC.

The bodies of three girls, found on Monday, were handed over to their families today after the postmortem, said Chief at the District Police Office Darchula, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Nain Singh Karki.

Karki said that the body of Puja is being brought to the district headquarters for a postmortem. RSS
