KATHMANDU, Feb 13: Former CPN-UML Vice Chairman Bhim Rawal has returned to Kathmandu after completing his Matribhumi Jagaran Abhiyan (Motherland Awakening Campaign).
Rawal announced the campaign during a press release on January 1 after being expelled from the party. Following the announcement, he began his campaign from Jhapa, traveling through Sunsari and reaching as far as Achham before concluding his tour.
Upon his return to Kathmandu on Thursday, Rawal said that future plans would be decided after further discussions. "After nearly a month of visits to various districts, I have returned to Kathmandu. Upcoming steps will be determined after consultations," he said.
Rawal is reportedly preparing to form a new political party. As part of these preparations, he has already held discussions with Karna Malla, vice president of Nepali Congress. There are indications that Rawal’s party and Nepali Congress (BP) may unite in the near future.
