Army runners clean sweep half marathon

DHANGADHI, April 14: Tribhuvan Army Club clean sweeps top honors in the Half Marathon on Tuesday organized by Dhangadhi Jaycees with the slogan "Now Dhangadhi Runs".

Khagendra Bahadur Bhat, Hom Lal Shrestha and Krishna Basnet of the departmental team earned top three positions respectively.

Khagendra completed 21.1 km in 1 hour 3 minutes and 26 seconds and bagged Rs 51,000 for his feat. Hom Lal completed the distance only three seconds behind Khagendra to finish runner up. He clocked 1 hour 3 minutes and 26 seconds to receive Rs 31,000. Krishna finished the course in 1 hour 3 minutes and 30 seconds and was awarded Rs 21,000.


Brigadier General of Nepal Army Damodar Thapa, Olympian Baikuntha Manandhar and others handed over prizes to the winners.
