APF to hold badminton, lawn tennis and volleyball tournaments

KATHMANDU, March 17: Central Sports Committee of Armed Police Force is set to hold the 12th Nationwide Krishna Mohan Memorial Open Badminton Championship from April 3 to 6 at its headquarters in Halchowk.



Similarly, the APF will also hold the Eighth Sahabir Memorial Open Lawn Tennis Championship on the same date.

Likewise, it will organize the Third APF IGP Open Women's Volleyball Championship from March 26 to April 1. During a press meet held on Thursday, AIG Singha Bahadur Shrestha informed that the tournaments were delayed due to earthquake, blockade and the South Asian Games.


The badminton tournament will include 11 different events with total cash prize of Rs 740,000. Similarly, there are 14 events in lawn tennis competition as participants will vie for a total cash prize of Rs 678,000.


Similarly, the top three teams will receive Rs 250,000, Rs 125,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively in volleyball event carrying a total cash prize of Rs 455,000.
