KATHMANDU, April 28: IME Foundation, with the support from All Nepal Lawn Tennis Association (ANLTA) and the coordination from the Junior Tennis Initiative (JTI), is set to organize the first IME JTI Grand Junior Open Lawn Tennis Tournament from May 20.
The matches of the tournament, which will conclude on May 26, will be played at the Naulin Sports Villa in Bhangal and the Mandikhatar Tennis Club, according to the JTI coordinator Krishna Raj Ghale.

Ghale further informed that an estimated 100 to 150 players will take part in the tournament which features U-8, U-9, U-12 and U-14 age groups in both boys’ and girls’ categories.
The winners of both the categories of U-14 age group will take home a ticket of Bangkok worth Rs 36,000 each, while the second placed players will be rewarded with a Bangkok ticket as well worth Rs 18,000. Likewise, the third place players will get four Chandragiri Cable Car tickets.
Also, both the winners of U-12 age category will get a Delhi air ticket worth Rs 20,000 each, while the second placed players will be prized with a Delhi air ticket worth Rs 10,000 each. The third placed players will receive four Chandragiri Cable Car tickets.
Similarly, the winners of both U-10 and U-18 age categories will be facilitated with a one-year JTI training course worth Rs 12,000, while the runner-ups will be rewarded with a six-month training course worth Rs 6,000. Also, the third place players will be prized with four Chandragiri Cable Car tickets.
On the same occasion, IME Limited signed a one-year sponsorship deal with boxer Manohar Basnet. IME Group’s Public Relation Chief Raju Paudel and Basnet signed on the agreement paper of the deal of Rs 80,000.
