Though the rights of women, rights of equality, right to social justice, etc. are mentioned in the Interim Constitution 2063 of Nepal, in practice these rights are not always respected.
There is a proverb” Little thieves are hanged by the neck and great thieves by the purse.’’ In Nepal’s context, it suits a lot. The first and the main cause of violence is the dishonesty of the law, misuse of the power and so on. Besides this the other causes of women violence are;
Poverty, lack of education, lack of awareness, superstitions patriarchal society, the over-whelming desire of son, conservative mind set relating to the norms and values towards religions and cultures, economic dependency on males, lack of self confidence, early marriage and lack of humanity and mankind due to industrialization and so on.

So to stop such kind of problems, people from different sectors should take suitable steps. The Nepal’s government should make a law to hang the offender till death likewise the media should strengthen the voice towards such kind of issues and rights including the penalty. The NGOs should organize different types of programs in all the districts about latest issues. In the same way being a responsible citizen, we people should support the victim and we must have to teach them to raise the voice for justice. There is another proverb also “Innocence is no protection”. So, being an innocent and dependent a woman will never get justice and protection.
