Advocate Ramesh Badal recommended as new attorney general

KATHMANDU, March 19: Advocate Ramesh Badal has been recommended as the new attorney general. 

The Prime Minister's Office recommended Badal in place of Agni Prasad Kharel who resigned from his post earlier today.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari will appoint him as the new attorney general.

According to sources, he is taking oath of office and secrecy at 11AM on Sunday. He will be the 27th attorney general of Nepal.

Badal is well versed on Nepal's labor laws. He is also vice chairperson of the General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions (GEFONT), which is under the ruling CPN-UML.
