KATHMANDU, March 17: Acclaimed Bollywood screenwriter Bhavani Iyer has begun leading a four-day screenwriting workshop in Nepal, organized by Shikshya Foundation Nepal in collaboration with KathaSatha. The workshop, Go Tell It On The Mountain, runs from March 17-20 and provides mentorship to 16 selected Nepali screenwriters, the foundation said in a press release.
According to the organizers, the program focuses on key aspects of storytelling, including character development, writer’s voice, and South Asian cinematic elements like intermissions and musical sequences. Participants are working on their feature film scripts under Iyer’s guidance and will pitch their projects to Nepali film producers on the final day.
A public talk, In Conversation with Bhavani Iyer, is also set for March 21, offering filmmakers and enthusiasts an opportunity to engage with the screenwriter.
Shikshya Foundation Nepal, founded by designer Prabal Gurung and his associates, promotes education through arts and culture, while KathaSatha fosters storytelling and literary initiatives in Nepal, the press statement read.
