RAUTAHAT, Aug 4: District Police Office (DPO), Rautahat has suspended two policemen--one from the Nepal Police and the other from the Armed Police Force--for their involvement in thrashing locals.
"Sarwajit Singh of Nepal Police and Amar Singh of Armed Police Force have been suspended," according to DSP Sudhir Raj Shahi.

The suspended policemen had thrashed five locals at Hajminiya VDC-8 on July 31. Sarwajit, who was deployed at Area Police Office in Bhimphedi VDC, Makwanpur, and Amarjit, who was posted at Auraiya VDC in Rautahat, beat up the locals over a dispute when they were visiting their home village of Hajminiya in Rautahat district.
The victims had reported a case to the district administration office. Following the incident, a case was registered against the suspended policemen under the Public Offence Act and the local DPO took them into custody. The police have sought a week's time to investigate the matter.
Krishna Kumar Singh, who is also said to have involved in thrashing the locals, has also been arrested for investigation, according to DSP Shahi.
