A joint team of community forest representatives, policemen from the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police and officials from the District Forest Office (DFO) demolished the huts by setting them on fire.

The huts were destroyed with the support of the local forest users after the encroachers did not remove them despite repeated notices for the same, according to district forest officer Krishna Prasad Pokharel.

Meanwhile, around a dozen houses and huts built on the roadside by violating rules in Khairenitar bazaar of Tanahun have also been demolished, according to Khaireni Youth Club.
