10 injured in Kanchanpur road mishap

KANCHANPUR, Sept 9: A total of 10 passengers were injured in a road accident at Basanta Community Forest at Jhalari VDC-9 along the East-West Highway on Sunday afternoon. Out of the injured, condition of two is critical.



The accident took place when a van with the Registration No. Se 1 Ja 336 heading towards Jhalari from Kailali based Geta Eye Hospital collided with a tree as the van driver felt sleepy, according to Assistant Sub-Inspector, Khadak Bahadur Bam.[break]



Locals and police personnel rescued the injured and they are undergoing treatment at Jhalari based Everest Polyclinic.Of the injured, seven are from Khatima of India and the remaining others are locals.Condition of the van driver, Lokraj Bhattarai, 22, and Janaki Oda, 60, of Pipaladi VDC is critical.



The injured Indian nationals are Birama Ati, Chhadam Singh, Chhamadevi Bankariya, another Chhadam Singh, Seema Devi, Lala Bahadur Ram and Bhagawan Singh.
