KATHMANDU, July 3: Chief of Army Staff General Rajendra Chhetri is visiting China on Tuesday at the official invitation of People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China.
According to a press statement released by the Directorate of Public Relations of Nepal Army, CoAS Chhetri during his day-long stay in China will hold meeting with high-ranking officials of PLA.
CoAS Chhetri returns home after visit to China, Myanmar
In the course of this visit, General Chhetri will also travel to Myanmar and hold meeting with high-ranking army officials of Myanmar.
General Chhetri is scheduled to return home on July 13 after completing his visit to both China and Myanmar. Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Purna Chandra Thapa will act as Acting Chief of Nepal Army in the absence of CoAS Chhetri.
The army said the visit of CoAS Chhetri to China and Myanmar is expected help further strengthen bilateral relations subsisting between Nepal and those countries and further enhance the cooperation between the Nepal Army and the armies of the two neighboring
countries.
