CoAS Chhetri leaving for Sri Lanka today

KATHMANDU, Jan 17: Chief of Army Staff, Rajendra Chhetri, is leaving for Sri Lanka today at the official invitation of the Sri Lankan Army chief, Mahesh Senanayeke.

During the visit, CoAS Chhetri will meet with the President, the Prime Minister and the Defence State Minister of Sri Lanka. He will also interact with the chiefs of the Sri Lankan Army, Navy and Air Force, the Nepalese Army, Directorate of Public Relations and Information stated in a press release. The Army Chief will also make an observation tour of the important command headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army in course of the visit.


Chief of General Staff, Purna Chandra Thapa, will take up the responsibility of the Acting Chief of Army Staff during CoAS Cheetri's absence, according to the Directorate. CoAS Chettri will return home on January 25 upon completion of his Sri Lanka visit.
