Media vehicle vandalized

BHADRAPUR, May 21: Unidentified persons hurled stones at a vehicle belonging to the Annapurna Post national vernacular daily early Monday morning, smashing the windscreen of the vehicle and injuring the driver.



The vehicle (Ko 1 Cha 7007) carrying the newspaper copies from Biratnagar and heading towards Birtamod, Jhapa came under attack at Kamalpul in local Topgachhi at 5:30 in the morning, police said.[break]



Four people who were hiding threw stones at the vehicle. Driver Jit Bahadur Shrestha sustained injuries in his head and is currently undergoing treatment in Surunga.



Similarly, stones were also hurled at a vehicle carrying copies of Kantipur newspaper at about the same time, it is stated. The looking glass of the vehicle has been broken and the driver escaped unharmed.



Meanwhile, an unidentified person set a truck (Na 1 Kha 748) on fire at Kerkha in Jhapa district on Sunday evening, completely destroying the vehicle, police said.
