Health and Fitness Expo kicks off

KATHMANDU, April 19: Hilltake 4th Health and Fitness Expo 2012 kicked off on Thursday with the objective of increasing awareness on health issues and fostering positive attitude in people toward health care.



The four-day event, organized by Direction Nepal, is being held at Direction Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) on the 4th floor of United World Trade Center (UWTC) in Tripureshwor.[break]



The event was jointly inaugurated by Dr Praveen Mishra, secretary at the Ministry of Health and Population, and Yubraj Lama, member secretary of the National Sports Council.



"The essence of this expo is to bring together a wide range of health and fitness related services and products under a single roof and impart proper information on issues related to health and fitness," Event Coordinator Chitra Poudel said.



The event will also help people gain knowledge about health products, training aids and nutrition, while eating tips are also being provided, said Pashupati KC, director of Direction Nepal. "Apart from purchasing wide range of skin care products, visitors can also undergo aromatherapy, hydrotherapy and other therapies.”



The expo has also incorporated some relevant side events like inter club aerobic competition, free Zumba classes, Aqua Zumba classes, free yoga sessions, blood donation camp, AIDS awareness program, free dental check up among others.



The event features around 60 stalls that are showcasing herbal products, home appliances, latest equipment and technologies related to health and fitness and many more.
