Birgunj entrepreneur shot at

BIRGUNJ, Parsa, June 10: A person has been seriously injured in a shootout by an unidentified group in Birgunj.



Seller mill proprietor Umesh Gupta, 36, of Kalaiya municipality-5 of Bara district sustained serious injuries when the group opened fire at him in Birgunj municipality-10 at around 10 a.m. on Wednesday night.[break]



He was shot while returning home after having snacks in Pani Tyanki of Birgunj. One bullet hit his helmet and another penetrated the right side of his stomach.



The unidentified group had robbed his Discovery bike (Na 4 Pa 9969).



Seriously wounded Gupta has been taken to Kathmandu for further treatment from the Narayani Sub-regional Hospital of Birgunj, said District Police Office, Parsa.



The reason and objective behind the shoot at Gupta has yet to be found. Search for the shooters is on, police added.
