KATHMANDU, May 20: Dhanraj Acharya continues to lead the race for the post of mayor of the metropolis. CPN (Unified Socialist) candidate Acharya, who is a common candidate of the ruling alliance, has maintained a difference of 3,270 votes with his closest rival, CPN-UML candidate Krishna Thapa.

DANG, May 15: The counting of votes in 13 wards of Dang has been completed. While the CPN (Maoist Center) has won in five wards, the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML have won in four wards each. So far, Maoist Center candidates have been elected in Rapti Municipality-9, Shantinagar Municipality-1, Rajpur Municipality-6 and 7 and Bangalachuli-8.

SIRAHA, May 15: In Dhangadhimai Municipality 1 and 14 of Siraha, which is considered as the stronghold of CPN-UML, a panel of Suryanath Yadav and Amit Thakuri of Nepali Congress has won.

ROLPA, May 15: Independent candidates have won in one ward of Rolpa. Nepali Congress (NC) rebel candidate Netra Bahadur Giri has won the ward chairmanship as an independent candidate for the second time in Sunil Smriti Rural Municipality-2 of the district.
