KATHMANDU, June 5: A teacher at St Lawrence College of Chabahil was accused of sexually harassing a female student on May 24. Less than two weeks later, another incident of a similar nature was made public in the capital on Saturday.

With an aim to raise issues regarding climate change to a larger audience using art, the event entitled ‘Disrupting Climate Disruption: A Global Day of Creative Action’ is going to be held at Utpala Cafe, Boudha on Saturday.

Gallery LA is hosting a group painting exhibition on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2019 at Boudha. The all women’s exhibition began on March 8. The exhibition includes seven women artists—Anamika Gautam, Anisha Maharjan, Deepmala Maharjan, Kunti Shree Thapa, Muna Bhadel, Namrata Singh and Sabita Dangol.

Taragaon Museum based at  Boudha, Kathmandu, is currently garnered with photo exhibition ‘Boudhanath 1972’ by Danish visual fine artist Mette Ussing. The exhibition that began on October 14 showcases both black & white and color photographs taken in 1972 when Ussing first visited Nepal.

KATHMANDU, April 30: Wishing for world peace by organizing special worships, singing hymns and holding discourses, the 2562nd Buddha Jayanti observed today.

It’s like the stupa was never missing from the Boudha skyline.  The result of the urgency with which the locals and local authorities took on the responsibility to repair the earthquake damages and resurrect the charm of the area is evident in Boudha’s consistent hustle and bustle. The crowd in itself is unique because it seems everybody visits Boudha for different reasons. If you take a moment to watch the people there, you will surely notice it too.

The UNESCO World Heritage Center marks Boudha Stupa as the largest Stupa in the world. Even as Boudha Stupa slowly recovers post the earthquake, the surroundings ensure that it’s still a great destination for a peaceful and enjoyable day.
