KATHMANDU, June 21: The Supreme Court (SC) has decided to extend the hearing on the case against Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane as the session held on Friday concluded without reaching a conclusion. Due to time constraints, Friday's hearing could not be completed, and the remaining hearing is now scheduled for June 30. Advocates representing Home Minister Lamichhane have yet to present their arguments.

KATHMANDU, June 21: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced that the construction of the 132 kilovolt double circuit transmission line from Sandhikharka Municipality -6 in Arghakhanchi to Resunga Municipality-7 in Gulmi has been completed. The construction of the 132 KV Tamghas substation has also been completed at Unaichaur under the same transmission line.

KATHMANDU, June 21: Nepal's total public debt has exceeded Rs 2.4 trillion. According to the Public Debt Management Office (PDMO), by mid-June of the current fiscal year 2023/24, the country’s domestic debt amounted to Rs 1.195 trillion and external debt amounted to Rs 1.28 trillion.

KATHMANDU, June 21: The Melamchi Water Supply Development Board (MWSDB) has decided not to immediately shut down the main source of the Melamchi Drinking Water Project located in Ambathan, Sindhupalchowk, despite earlier preparations to halt operations from today. This decision comes in response to the inadequate water flow in the Melamchi River starting today, prompting the committee to exercise caution in distributing water to the designated areas.

KATHMANDU, June 21: Only eight candidates have passed the examination conducted for 43 positions of District Judge. Under the inclusive quotas, only one candidate managed to secure a position under the indigenous quota. In the written examination conducted by the Judicial Service Commission in mid-May, not a single candidate passed in the reserved categories for women, Madhesis, Dalits and persons with disabilities.
