According to Area Police Station at Barhathawa, the unidentified group shot Dipendra Mahato, 20, of Sundarpur Choharwa VDC-7 had left him to die.[break]
“We found him lying unconscious near Hanuman temple. We rushed him to Bharatpur Hospital but he died on the way,” said Police inspector Bhuwaneshwar Sah. Mahato was shot in the back, informed Sah.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Umanghaskar Panjiyar, further investigation has been started into the killing.
“Since no bullet cell was recovered from the site, it is possible that Mahato was shot elsewhere and dumped near the temple,” said Panjiyar.
Mahato was studying in grade 12 at Janajyoti Higher Secondary School in Lambandi VDC.
