Youth essay contest

KATHMANDU, April 13: As technology makes the Earth a smaller place to live in, here is your chance to take part in an essay writing competition. The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) invites young people to share their ideas on how to create opportunities for youth to strengthen democracy and the private sector in their own countries.



Youth in the 18-30 years age bracket can participate in the competition. The essay should be within the word limit of 2,000 to 3,000 words. Categories allotted for the essay are Democracy that delivers, Entrepreneurship and society, and Women and participation.



The last day to submit essay has been fixed for June 18, 2010. Come fall of 2010, winners will be announced and for each category, first, second, and third place essayists will receive a $1,000 honorarium, and CIPE will publish winning essays.



The competition is jointly sponsored by CIPE and National Endowment for Democracy.
