Winners of essay competition awarded

KATHMANDU, Aug 12: Clean up Nepal and UNESCO education unit in Kathmandu awarded the winners of an essay competition on the eve of International Youth Day 2016 on Thursday.

KATHMANDU, Aug 12:  Clean up Nepal and UNESCO education unit in Kathmandu awarded the winners of an essay competition on the eve of International Youth Day 2016 on Thursday.



Rabin Luitel of Bright Horizon Children's Home School, Kathmandu received first prize, while Prabhash GC of Sainik Awasik Maha Vidhyalaya, Bhaktapur was declared second.



Likewise, Abhinav Dev of Budhanilkantha School, Kathmandu became third in the School level Environment Essay Contest.



The first, second and third essays were awarded Rs 30, 000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10, 000 respectively.



Altogether 1,700 students from 40 schools participated in the contest with the topic ‘Waste burning: Its impact and the role of youth to mitigate it’.



The essay contest was launched on the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5, 2016
