KATHMANDU, Jan 28: The Embassy of Nepal in Dhaka, Bangladesh and the Bangladesh-Nepal Friendship Society (BNFS) jointly organized an essay competition on Nepal-Bangladesh relations.
The essay competition received an overwhelming response with 306 essays submitted by the students from 84 public and private universities in Bangladesh. An eminent panel of judges meticulously evaluated the essays.
Accordingly, Aanika Hasan from BRAC University, Al Rabby Siemens from Jahangirnagar University, and Maxim Gorky Samya from North South University, came out first, second and third respectively. The competition was held between October and November 2023.

Meanwhile, a special function was organized at the embassy on Saturday afternoon to felicitate the winners of the ‘Essay Writing Competition- 2023’.
At the function, Nepali Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanshyam Bhandari, Chief Guest and Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibbur University Prof Md. Sharfuddin Ahmed and President of BNFS Moshiur Ahmed honored the winners.
Also on the occasion, a book entitled “From Himalayas to Bay of Bengal: Chronicles of Nepal-Bangladesh Friendship”, a compilation of the twenty selected essays was launched.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Bhandari commended the students for providing their perspectives and insights into the relationship between Nepal and Bangladesh.
Chief Guest Prof Md. Sharfuddin Ahmed highlighted the cultural and linguistic similarities between Nepal and Bangladesh. He also commended the efforts of the Embassy and the BNFS in promoting friendship between the two countries through the events of public diplomacy.
BNFS President Moshiur Ahmed and General Secretary Salahuddin Kutu also highlighted the importance of youth engagement in promoting bilateral relations.
