Expressing his views, Nepali Congress leader Pradeep Giri said, “Don’t judge yourself based on the number of books you have read but on the amount of knowledge you have gained through them and their implementation in your life.”

Giving a note of caution, Giri, a prominent speaker of the event, also asked the youth to be careful on what to read.

“Content, context and time are the three things one must keep in mind while choosing a book to read,” he added.

Agreeing with him, CPN-UML leader Raghuji Panta said the youth of today are disinterested in politics.

He added saying that cultivating a reading habit could only help generate an interest in politics.

Maoist ideologue Dr Baburam Bhattarai, who was scheduled to deliver his speech, however failed to make to the event.

Writer and columnist Khagendra Sangraula also aired his view on the occasion.
