Youth dies of electrocution in Dailekh

SURKHET, Feb 7: A young man has died due to electrocution in Dailekh. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ajurn KC, who is also Chief of District Police Office, Kalikot, informed Republica that the deceased has been identified as Prakash Budha, 29, from Panchdewal Binayak Municipality-4 in Achham district.

Budha sustained injuries when he was engaged in the expansion of Everest Network Pvt Ltd's cable near Dahi Khola on the border of Dailekh and Kalikot. He later passed away while undergoing treatment at the provincial hospital in Surkhet. Police confirmed that he was an employee of the Everest Network.

According to DSP KC, the electrocution occurred on Tuesday evening at an electric pole. He was immediately rushed to the provincial hospital after the police were alerted about the incident at 8 PM. He was declared dead at 11 PM.

Police stated that the incident occurred during the extension of the Everest network's fiber cable on the pole of the national transmission line. DSP KC mentioned that further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
