Shakriya, a graduate in Management Sudies who came up with the idea of Guhar Foundation, has taken up the initiative to help the elderlies and plans to established more organizations like Guhar in the near future. “I decided to form Guhar because I feel everyone has a responsibility towards the nation regardless of who they are, where they are from and what they do. Something has to be done and this is an attempt from my side to make it happen,” he said.[break]

Kanchi Maya Tamang, a street vendor, to whom the Guhar Foundation furnished Rs 10,000 as help during the press meet, said, “I have been selling vegetables on the streets since a very long time. I have no family; my son died when he was 25 and my husband died 40 years ago. Since then I have been living alone.” Adding to that, Saraswati Sharma, another street vendor, said, “It is like a helping hand from God for us and it is all because of Guhar.”
Guhar Foundation is set to be launched formally in a month’s time.
