Globally, ‘World Blood Donor Day’ is observed on 14 July. This year, with the theme of ‘Safe blood for all’, the event was celebrated to show gratitude to voluntary unpaid blood donors for gifting lifesaving blood. Moreover, the event also raised awareness of the necessity of regular blood donation.
Does donating blood make you weak?
According to World Health Organization 2019 (WHO), anyone between 18 to 65 years of age and living a healthy life with weight above 50 kg can donate up to 450ml of blood every week, up to 4 times a year.
