The winners of the competition have already been announced while the exhibition, running for five days from December 22 to 26, is being held at Nepal Art Council, Babar Mahal from 10AM to 6PM. [break]
The contest was divided into three categories, Art College Level, +2 and Similar Level and School Level, three winners from each of these categories were announced.
Rabindra Dangol won the first Prize, Khilendra Tuladhar won the second and Raju Maharjan bagged the third in the Art College Level category. The +2 and Similar Level category saw Vision Bhujel bag the first, Jyoti Hamal win the second and Prinjal Pradhan win the third prizes.
Similarly, Puja Shrestha from Maha Manjushree Higher Secondary School, Nikesh from New Zenith School and Nistha Bajracharya from Omega Higher Secondary School won the first, second and third prize respectively. Other consolation prizes were also handed out.
“This is a very good opportunity for young artists,” says Chief Judge, Shankar Raj Singh Suwal. “Its very motivating to win and coming here, competing with each other and being awarded like this gives these young artists more incentive to continue expressing themselves through art,” he adds.
The exhibition, with almost 250 participants, is also providing a platform for these young artists to sell their paintings.
The price of these paintings range from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 1,50,000 depending on the artist.
