KATHMANDU, March 11: Yeti Airlines is going to provide free air tickets to cancer patients who have to go to Birat Medical College Teaching Hospital (Birat Cancer Institute) in Biratnagar for treatment.

Yuvraj Bista, Chief Business Officer of Yeti Airlines said that this scheme has been introduced by Yeti Airlines as part of its corporate social responsibility to support cancer patients.

Bista said, “We believe that this service will give more motivation to every patient who is fighting cancer. Free air tickets will be available not only in the East but throughout Nepal for cancer patients. We have brought this plan in collaboration with Birat Cancer Institute.”

To get a free ticket, the patient should contact the Birat Cancer Institute with the necessary documents, said Vice Chairperson of Birat Cancer Institute Dr Nikita Karki.

Karki said, “Patients can directly contact the hospital's number 9852044266 for booking tickets while fixing an appointment with a doctor there.”

According to the airline, passengers must present an ID card certified by a hospital as a cancer patient at the counter of Yeti Airlines when checking in at the airport.

An agreement was signed between Yeti Airlines and Birat Cancer Institute on 29th February to provide free air tickets to cancer patients all over Nepal.
