KATHMANDU, June 12: A strong wind accompanied by rain has hit the western part of the country on early Wednesday.

A few days ago, a similar storm had wreaked havoc in Kailali and Kanchanpur districts. Most of the locals were forced to leave their homes after the storm blew away house roofs made up of zinc-sheets and destroyed their house compound walls.

Shivaraj Joshi, Chief District Officer of Kailali, said that the local administration has taken the stock of the situation.  According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), the western region of the country will witness rain, thunderstorms, and windstorm due to the influence of the westerly wind.
