YCL to deploy 200 youths per polling booth

KATHMANDU, Aug 12: UCPN (Maoist) youth wing, Young Communist League (YCL), has said it will deploy 200 youths at each polling booths during the November 19 CA elections. During a discussion with journalists in Kathmandu on Sunday, the Maoist youth wing said it will work effectively to make sure that the polls are held in free and fair manner.



"We are planning to deploy 200 youths at each election booth," YCL Kathmandu chief Ram Prasad Sapkota told Republica. He also added that YCL will retaliate against the forces that aim to obstruct the elections. [break]



YCL chief Ganesh Man Pun expressed commitment that the YCL will help the authorities in bringing to book anyone attempting to disrupt the elections. He also said that elections are inevitable in the present situation.



Indicating at the CPN-UML youth wing Youth Federation Nepal (YFN), YCL chief Pun said that YCL will prevent attempts by anyone to misuse youths during the elections. UML youth wing YFN has decided to launch a special plan for the elections and is also planning to form a women´s youth force.



UCPN (Maoist) had decided to reactivate YCL in May in view of the upcoming elections. YCL plans to form YCL committees in each village and city wards as per its campaign ´one tole one YCL committee´.



The YCL was formed just before the last CA elections out of the best individuals of the PLA under the leadership of the then PLA fourth division commander Ganesh Man Pun.



The UCPN (Maoist) plans to hold YCL´s first general convention on August 31-September 3 in Kathmandu.
